Where Wellness Meets Compassion
When you think of a
Morocco yoga retreat, you may picture tranquil gardens, vibrant souks, and the sweeping stillness of the desert. But behind the scenes of our transformative retreats stands someone who embodies this spirit of healing—Miss
Ines Johanna Stephan. Known internationally as a yoga teacher and a pioneering film producer, Miss Stephan is also deeply committed to something most guests never expect: the welfare of Morocco’s most vulnerable animals.
Yoga in the Land of Light
At the center of our Morocco yoga retreat experiences are the powerful sequences of the Synergistic Retreat Method. Designed by Yoga with Perumal and led in Morocco by Miss Stephan herself, fostering deep physical release, mental clarity, and emotional restoration. Join us in the Palmeraie’s lush gardens or venture into the stillness of our retreat desert offerings.
But Miss Stephan’s personal story brings another layer to these retreats. Beyond yoga, she is a woman driven by compassion.
A Voice for the Voiceless
A Voice for the Voiceless
Living in the Palmeraie district of Marrakech, Miss Stephan has rescued and cared for countless
stray animals Marrakech—many of them abandoned, injured, or at risk of poisoning by local residents. Currently, she is fostering two extraordinary dogs: a six-year-old mother and her one-year-old daughter, both of whom had already suffered abandonment twice before finding safety with her.
“I simply couldn’t let that happen again,” she writes. “They are incredibly kind souls—calm, affectionate, and now under the loving guidance of a trainer. They’ve never been separated, and it would break their hearts to be apart.”
ANIMAL RESCUE IS DAILY
This care is not a passing gesture—it is her daily commitment. With the support of her housekeeper Naima, Miss Stephan currently fosters 43 cats, all spayed, vaccinated, and lovingly tended to. Since 2011, she has personally financed the rescue and medical care of over 400 cats in Marrakech. Today, her crowdfunding campaign is raising awareness and support for over 200 cats that still require spaying and vaccinations, with 60 urgently needing medical attention.
Her work is a powerful example of Morocco animal rescue, showing what’s possible when care, discipline, and purpose come together.
