Central Function:

The energy of Mooladhara chakra is the main generator of the physical body and its energy system. The instinct for survival is the central function of the Mooladhara Chakra such as surviving adverse conditions, hardness, fatigue and all of life’s difficulties. These are all correlated with endurance, adaptability, instinct, strength and potential. Mooladhara is the seat of the primordial yet dormant energy referred to as Kundalini. Kundalini is an energy that is an evolutionary consciousness which we seek to awaken with yoga, breathing and meditation techniques. From Mooladhara chakra Kundalini rises through the the Raja Nadi Sushumna, while piercing all the other chakras to reach  the crown chakra. Yogic traditions convey that the Sushumna fully opens when the mind, breath, heart, and other two Vira Nadi - Chandra or Ida , the lunar-feminine-energy-channel, and Surja or Pingala, the solar-masculine-energy-channel - achieve balance and harmony.

When Mooladhara Chakra is well balanced you feel a sense of inner and outer equilibrium. You feel grounded, you feel safe. You are strong and enabled to adapt to difficult moments. You do not fear the unknown, you do not panic, you finally can achieve inner stillness without being frozen. As for the function of scents it connects us with the living memories of the universe and enhances our true potential. Ready for the future, ready to embrace change and growth, looking out for the millions of possibilities of the macro universe and micro universe within us. You handle physical, emotional, and conceptual lines of your boundaries and limitations, and you look forward.

The disciple asked: "What will my future be?"  The Master replied: "Observe your boundaries and limitations. Your future will be the path that will lead you to

free yourself from them, using the qualities you have already built within yourself."

Boundaries are the lines—physical, emotional, or conceptual—that separate one area or entity from another.

Defined limits are the specific parameters or rules established to govern those boundaries.
