CHAKRA

  AWARNESS & ENERGY

"He who understands the greatness of a symbol comes to understand the immensity of the universe."

Chakra is a Sanskrit word, with different translations that always refer to the meaning of a circular shape, like a circle, a wheel, a center, a vortex.

An energetic movement that expands into a spiral, the point from which everything comes and to which everything returns, Bindhu.

Chakras are also called Padma, meaning lotus. They are represented as closed, semi-open, or open lotus flowers.

The lotus flower is one of the symbols of yoga. Its roots grow toward the earth, and its stem grows to open its petals, facing heaven.

Chakras are opened, connecting between one and the other, bringing energy to flow in balance and harmony along

Shushumna Nadi.

Nadis are channels that transport energy.  Real streams that reach the great river, identified with the spinal column.

They transport: Prana - the fresh vital energy,  Apana - the tepid descending energy,  Samana - the warm median energy,

Vyana - the unctuous and oleaginous energy which allows smooth movements of all the limbs.

According to Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, the human body features 72,000 energy channels.

In yogic science Shushumna Nadi is a main energy channel, a Raya Chakra,

while the secondary ones are defined Vira Chakra, the gentle warriors.

The 7th Chakra , Sahashara, the chakkra of bliss, is intentionally omitted since it is relates to consciousness which is not achieved unless the first 6 chakras are balanced.

When the individual's reference energy is that of the seventh Chakra there is inevitably an overcoming of the daily modality of existence, from the coarsest to the most refined and elevated. A progressive and abandonment to the intuition of the inner voice. The energy we encountered in Mooladhara chakra, the potential and propellant of all evolution, manifests itself in Sahasrara, generating force in its universal form, MahaKundalini. It represents spirituality and, due to its relaxing effect, is used in the treatment of restlessness, agitation, hypertension, insomnia, and eye disorders. It acts on the mind,  stimulating humility and self-realization. Connected with the universe, the divine within us and within others. Related to the pineal gland, the cerebral cortex, and the central nervous system.

When out of balance, it is associated with obsession, injustice, intolerance, and mental restriction.
